I've just started this experiment going on two weeks now. I must say, my hair and skin have never looked better!! Pores on my face are coming unclogged and I'm not greasy or oily anywhere. Going to stick with this and see what happens... so far great results!

Well, I've gotta say, that's pretty damn interesting.

Have heard about using epsom salt in baths, but never had one. They're fizzy, right?

How regular are these "regular baths"?

I haven't used soap, on my face or body, or shampoo for over a year. I shower and wash my hair in plain water every day and regularly have baths with minerals such as Bi carb or Epsom salts. Initially I used a mineral deodorant spray (not the crystal) but now only intermittently. I was a little paranoid at first but every one assures me I have absolutely no odor from anywhere. It didn't take long for my skin and hair to regulate oil production and now my hair and skin are soft and not at all oily or dry. Even after a day in closed in shoes long pants and jumpers my feet and arm pits are totally fine. Amazingly I am assured by my partner that where it counts there is absolutely no smell at all even when I haven't had shower since the morning. The bodies natural oils and sebums have antibacterial and antifungal properties as do some minerals. I am absolutely not a hippy and constantly check with people I can trust as find this so unbelievable. I think the trick is you still wash regularly with water and judicious use of minerals. Also when I was a nurse I was involved in two studies. One at an infectious diseases hospital showed the best thing to wash your hands with was plain water and the other study in wound care also showed the best thing to wash wounds with was plain water too. I didn't believe it at the time but certainly with the wound care it proved correct.

Impossible to have a control person really - everyone's metabolism, lifestyle & habits are different. Just have to pay a LOT of attention.

You know, I was JUST about to write a followup. Tell you what, I'll give you a sneak peak (don't tell anyone, ok?)

Basically, despite an insanely active lifestyle, it's been pretty good. Minimising chemicals on skin = good. Not washing at all (which I think (dirty) hippies tend towards) is one thing, I wash a lot - can't help it, showers are great places to be. I found there was a small amount of natural smell. Not terrible, but enough for me to notice, but nothing that a little spritzing under the arms with some eau de toilette wouldn't sort.

Ok, more discoveries than that, but that's a teaser :)

So how has it been ? Also, do you have a control person ? I have been bumping into hippies that seem oblivious to their smell, and it irritates me no end, so if I tried a no-deo experiment I'd have to ask other's opinion because I'd be worried that I've just adjusted to my new smell.
Don't bother cleaning with moisturiser (more chemicals) but maybe oil or soapnut might be interesting for me...

geez your blog is interesting!!!
I read about women not washing their hair for a month & 90% of them said their hair was miles shinier, silkier and healthier. I also knew a swedish chick who didn't use soap and she had the clearest skin and no smell! Hmmm. Might give this a try!!

I use a crystal deodorant as opposed to a normal one, which works a treat, I combine with coconut oil sometimes also!

Interestingly, it's nowhere near as terrible as I expected it to be. Different, definitely but not terrible. It's.. been educational.
